Abstrakti

The narrative literature review examines the language policy themes that have gained visibility in the AFinLA publication series (Publications de l’Association Finlandaise de Linguistique Appliquée, later known as AFinLA Yearbook, and AFinLA-e: Studies in Applied Linguistics, later AFinLA-teema) in 1971–2024. Some observations are also made about the association’s own language policy, particularly concerning the languages in which the scientific debate has been conducted in its publications. The analysis provides a basis for considering whether AFinLA as an association wants to position itself also as an actor in language policy or whether it mainly provides a forum for scholarly debate on this topic.
