New Editors-in-Chief of Ethnologia Fennica
The board of Ethnos has chosen the new co-Editors-in-Chief for Ethnologia Fennica for the period of 2022-2024: PhD Maija Mäki (University of Turku and PhD Kirsi Sonck Rautio (Åbo Akademi University).
PhD Maija Mäki is an ethnologist working as a University Teacher of Museology at the University of Turku. Her doctoral thesis (2020) had multidisciplinary approach to the futures of tourism at archaeological sites in Finland. Her research interests are connected to heritage and material culture, heritage futures and tourism. Mäki has currently used and eager to develop participatory and art-based research methods.
Kirsi Sonck-Rautio has background in ethnology (PhD) and cultural anthropology (MA). Currently she works as a Post doctoral Researcher at Åbo Akademi University under the Profiling Area The Sea. Her Doctoral Thesis (2019) examined the resilience of small-scale fisheries in the Finnish coastal area and she has specialized in environmental issues such as climate change, biodiversity loss and plastic pollution. She is interested in developing participatory and multidisciplinary methods and theoretical frameworks.
