Abstract

The history and publication of Ethnologia Fennica in the years 1971- 1986 are closely connected with the Seurasaari Foundation, founded in 1956 to support Seurasaari Open-Air Museum and ethnological research generally, and especia ly with Mr Niilo Valonen, who was Professor of Finno-Ugrian Ethnology at the University of Helsinki from 1961 to 1977.
