A new ancient costume reconstruction was published in 2024 as a part of the Lahti Historical Museum’s exhibition. The costume includes a linen shirt, a light blue wool dress, a darker blue peplos dress with heavy ornaments held by oval convex brooches, a reddish-brown apron, a blue shawl, silver bracelets and two glass beads, based on the finds from Hollola Kirkkailanmäki grave 4/1978, dated to the early 13th century. In this article, the authors report on the textile finds and the choices made in the reconstruction process. Moreover, the reconstruction process is discussed according to models developed for evaluating archaeological reconstructions.
