Teaching and learning legal work skills as a response to digitalisation

The purpose of the article is to answer the following question: How should new societal challenges such as digitalisation be reflected in legal education? This article argues that developing legal education to meet the future needs of lawyers requires changing both students’ attitudes and the way lawyers are being taught. Innovative pedagogical experiments are one way of bringing new perspectives into legal education. Some of these experiments, such as moot courts and hackathons, are discussed in detail in this article.
However, it is important not to forget that legal theory and legal thinking are still the core competencies of lawyers. What is more, students should be taught general knowledge and resilience skills in order to be able to meet the challenges brought about by digitalisation.
