Three new species of Cortinarius subgenus Telamonia from North America
Abstract
Three new North American Cortinarius species are described here as new, based on phylogenetic analysis and morphological findings. Two of the species, C. ostreatus and C. sodalis belong to Cortinarius sect. Firmiores and are found in mixed forests with oak and pine in Florida while the third one, C. aster, belongs to Cortinarius sect. Sejunctifolii and grows in coniferous forests located in western North America. Cortinarius aster is the first species of Cortinarius sect. Sejunctifolii found outside of Europe.
