Characteristics of facility service industry and effects on buyer-supplier relationships

AbstractThe aim of this article is to delineate the characteristics of facility services at three levels; and to analyse the uncertainty consequent to the characteristics and the different dimensions of related uncertainty. The most significant characteristics seem to be its simplicity and support service nature. This article identifies the suitable control mechanisms and presents a conceptual model for managing facility service relationships and related risks.
