Stemming from the Harawavian term "becoming-with", the transformation of the preposition "with" into a hyphenated postposition when building new theories from phrasal verbs is an emergent phenomenon within academic discourse. "-with" is often used to indicate more considered, reciprocal, and relational methods of doing research. In this paper, I extend these ideas to consider "with" as the dynamic praxis of withing in order to further address issues related to multispecies ethnography and more-than-human ethics in the contemporary moment. In doing so, I aim to strengthen connections between the arts and the social sciences by showing how a pragmatic and creative practice-research methodological framework could be beneficial for social science researchers undertaking their knowledge inquiries with more-than-human communities.
