Kawen Adat: The Traditional Marriage Ritual of the Dayak Indigenous People of Indonesia

The marriage ritual for the Dayak Benawan Indigenous people is a sacred ceremony that has been carried out for generations. Traditional rituals are simultaneously performed with the wedding party for three consecutive days and three consecutive nights. The photographic works presented in this article capture the ceremonial procession of the Dayak Benawan's traditional marriage ritual, held in the Pejalu village, Sanggau Regency, in the Province of West Kalimantan, Indonesia.
