Finnish Journal of eHealth and eWelfare (FinJeHeW) is a scientific journal established by the Finnish Social and Health Informatics Association (FinnSHIA) and the Finnish Society of Telemedicine and eHealth (FSTeH).
About the Journal
Finnish Journal of eHealth and eWelfare (FinJeHeW) is a scientific journal maintained and owned by the Finnish Social and Health Informatics Association (FinnSHIA) and the Finnish Society of Telemedicine and eHealth (FSTeH).
Focus and Scope
The aim of the Journal is to promote scientific research, communication and education in the fields of information and communication technology relating to social and health care, telemedicine, eHealth and eWelbeing.
FinJeHeW contains editorials, review articles, full text articles, brief reports, conference reports and lectio praecursorias in Finnish and English. Finnish articles should include an English abstract. Submission of a manuscript is understood to imply that it has not been published (except in abstract form) and is not being considered for publication elsewhere.
Peer Review
All submitted scientific manuscripts are evaluated by the editors. Manuscripts that are considered suitable for publication in the Journal are sent to two referees for assessment. The review process is a double-blind process for research articles. Editor-in-chief assigned to handle a paper knows the identity of the authors and outsider reviewers. Reviewers are post-doctoral researchers or other experts in the scientific field. Reviewers are not involved in manuscript's creation. A structured form is used in review process. For manuscripts afforded review, authors can expect a decision within three months of manuscript submission.
There are no article processing charges (APCs) or publication fees.
Publication Frequency
The Journal is published in electronic form and four times yearly (quarterly). Journal items are published collectively, as part of an issue with its own Table of Contents.
Open Access
The contents of this journal will be available in an open access format starting from autumn 2017.
