About the Journal

The aim of the Fennoscandia Archaeologica is to encourage discussion within the discipline of archaeology and to improve the standard of archaeological research by contacts on the interdisciplinary and international levels.

Fennoscandia archaeologica has been published annually since 1984 by the Archaeological Society of Finland. From 2018 onwards, FA has started using the ‘Label for peer-reviewed scholarly publications’ granted by the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies.

Fennoscandia archaeologica is an electronic journal published online on Journal platform. It has been fully open access from 2023. Preliminary version of each article are made freely available online directly after processing. Each year's volume containing finalized articles is published in December. These final versions of articles can be freely deposited in any repositories. The editorial team of the journal is committed to open and impartial publishing.
 
The publications of Fennoscandia Archaeologica remain under the copying license of Kopiosto. The terms of use are as follows:
