Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
  • The manuscript is in OpenOffice or Microsoft Word format.
  • This manuscript has not been published earlier, and it hasn't been sent to another publication for consideration (or an explanation of this has been given in Comments to the Editor).
  • The text follows the stylistic and bibliographic guidelines given in the authors' instructions.
  • The line spacing of the text is single; font size is 12; italics, not underlined text is used (except in URL-addresses); all pictures, graphs, and tables are primarily located in relevant places in the text, not in the end of it.

Author Guidelines

Manuscripts accepted to the editing process as articles are double blind peer-reviewed by at least two referees. Articles are generally published using the peer-review label of the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies, which denotes observance of the requirements for the use of the label.

Manuscripts accepted as other contributions are peer-reviewed by at least one referee.

Helsinki Law Review follows the guidelines of the Finnish Advisory Board on Research Integrity on Responsible conduct of research and procedures for handling allegations of misconduct in Finland. You can download the guidelines here.
