Abstract

The Vyborgian music scene in Savonlinna

This text examines musical relations between Savonlinna and Vyborg, as well as the hobby of music amongst the Karelian migrants in Savonlinna. The hobby of music united evacuees from Vyborg after the wars. This was influenced by pre-war contacts that facilitated their adaptation to Savonlinna. The Roma population with a Karelian background was also part of this musical tradition, but there is still little research on this topic.
