The Society of Queer Studies in Finland’s peer-reviewed journal SQSJ invites submissions under the theme

QUEER SITUATEDNESS IN CONCEPTS AND HISTORY

SQSJ welcomes theoretical, methodological, or empirical submissions for queering concepts and history. Suitable themes and research questions include, but are not limited to, the following:

– Reconfiguring or challenging queer concepts

– Queer conceptual politics

– The historicity of queer concepts

– Queer theorizing in different places and different times: the geopolitics of Queer history

– The conceptualization of Queer Studies and its challenges in transdisciplinary encounters

– The historicity of queer theory and queer studies as a matter of situated knowledge, mood and mode of theorizing

The deadline for abstract submissions is January 18th, 2019. Please send your abstract to journal editors. Submissions can be written in English, Finnish or Swedish. In addition to articles, we warmly encourage discussions, essays, reviews and artistic renderings on queer concepts and queer history.

The deadline of article manuscript submissions is April 30th, 2019 via submission portal. The article manuscripts go through peer review. For a successful editorial process, please note that revision requests to all submissions are common.
