Increasing the young adults participation has become an important goal in society, which is promoted through various forms of programmes and projects. We explore participation in reference to different types of participatory cultural projects and leisure activities that are designed for young adults in 2017–2018 in the Middle-Finland. We interviewed 15 persons, who are employees or voluntary workers in these projects. We study how cultural activities aim to promote greater participation and inclusion of young people in society. The analysis was based on cultural, social, economic, and political dimension of participation. As a result, we suggest that cultural participation should be perceived from the wider perspective, which enables us to consider also those (informal) forms of participation, which are often misrecognized. Young adults’ participation can be viewed as a process, which involves small advancements and the development of new skills and networks.
