The Finno-Ugrian Society is one of the oldest and largest learned societies in Finland. Ever since its founding (1883), the society has striven to promote the research of Uralic and Altaic languages, the ethnography of their speakers as well as the latter's historical and prehistorical past.

Journal de la Société Finno-Ougrienne (Suomalais-Ugrilaisen Seuran Aikakauskirja) is an international journal published since 1886. In its present form, JSFOu is a peer-reviewed journal that appears approximately biennially. Free access to the whole content of the most recent issues (91–98) is provided here at Journal.fi. The articles and scientific reports, as well as the annual reports and financial statements of the Finno-Ugrian Society, are available as pdf files.
