Abstrakti

How is experiential knowledge applied
in municipality reforms?
The aim of this article is to observe to how
experiential knowledge is applied in municipality
reforms. This empirical research, which is based
on interviews from Oulu and Kempele, reveals
that using experiential knowledge presents
many challenges related to the essence of the
information, authority, structures, culture and
know-how. The use of experiental knowledge
varies greatly and is dependent on content and
situations. At its best, experiental knowledge
can complement professional information and
enable a wider overall view of cases.
