Abstrakti
Organizational values are norms, expectations
and guidelines for the employees and leadership.
This article postulates that especially when
organizations are in transition, values have
influence to change and to change
management. Currently Finnish universities are
under extensive change: major changes are
related to the legal status of the universities,
their governing bodies and the employment
status of the employees etc. ln this article the
question is what are the core values of Finnish
universities and how university reform affects to
universities' values. To describe values, all the
universities (total 20) were explored through
official document materia!. Typical values are
quality, sense of community and societal impact.
However, these values are going to change but
how much and to which direction remains to be
seen.
