Abstrakti
Preceptorship is emphasized today, thus
thousands of new employees are hired to health
care organisations during the near future due
to the retirement of current employees. The
number is increasing because of the need of
nursing and caring is growing.
This study gives a new perspective for the
topic, because the data were collected from
university nursing science students (N=76).
They did have the experience, new theoretical
knowledge as well as skills to reflect their
experiences about the preceptorship. Data for
the study were collected from the diaries
students wrote during spring 2005. lnductive
content analysis was used as the means
of analysis method. The results indicate that
the core of the high quality preceptorship is
clarity of the responsibility and goal as well as
definition of the content of preceptorship
