lnformation Security Challenges for Users, End-Users and Organizations in the Beginning of the
new Millennium
The information society is built for the benefit of the
people. lts various activities could be made more
effective by providing a versatile range of services.
The current tendency is to integrate services as a
basic component of the infrastructure of the
information society. However, as users are the most
important part of the society, the only sustainable
way to develop the information society is to
promote information security in parallel with the
development of new technical solutions. lncreased
security opens up new perspectives for users and
end-users alike. Both groups face certain security
threats and should be involved in discussions
around security. As a matter of fact, the
management of organizational information security
work is a major challenge for security people. The
first useful tool in this area is discussion of
information security awareness.
