WORK CHARACTERIZATION AMONG HEALTH
CARE PERSONNEL
This paper presents the study concerning the
health care personnel's experiences of their work
and job satisfaction. Data were collected by
questionnare from 195 health care workers
(phycisians and nurses with different educational
degrees) in five clinics in Kuopio University Hospital
during spring 1992. The personnel characterized
their work independent, responsible and highly
respectable. Workers with longer educational
background appeared more critical than workers with
shorter education. Job satisfaction was considerably
high among the whole staff. Work evaluation and
minor feedback from the immediate superiors were
most unsatisfied issues.
