Abstrakti

On the Principle of the Rule of Law as a Tool for Development: Perspectives and Limitations

The article focuses on issues related to the opportunities and perspectives of development and promotion of the rule of law in developing countries. As international efforts have increased, a scholarly field of law and development has emerged. Studies regarding the rule of law and development focus on the role of key legal and judicial institutions in societal, economic and other development. The article discusses these phenomena with the aim of feeding into the Finnish discussion and also reflecting on the lessons learned so far.
