Ortodoksia 66: Unity of the Church and Polarization  

We invite submissions for the 66th volume of Ortodoksia, focusing on the theme of unity and polarization in the Orthodox Church. Contributions for this issue may explore, but are not limited to, the following topics: 

  • Different views on the contextuality of theology and the boundaries of development in tradition
  • Pastoral approaches in the midst of polarization 
  • Hierarchal structures and bishops as bearers of responsibility  
  • Hierarchal vs. charismatic authority in the Church 
  • Social media influencers in the Orthodox context 
  • Gender-related questions 
  • Political polarization in local Orthodox churches 

Ortodoksia welcomes proposals for research articles, reports, reviews of current research and books. Manuscripts written in Finnish, Swedish, or English, should be submitted on the publishing platform of Ortodoksia no later than 1st of January 2026. Research articles will be peer-reviewed. The new printed volume will be launched in September 2026 at the annual meeting of the Finnish Orthodox Clergy Association. It will also be available open access at https://journal.fi/ortodoksia.
