This article discusses some basic assumptions of quantitative statistical analysis and how they may become problematic to educational researchers. A Bayesian way of doing statistical analysis is presented and compared to traditional frequentistic methods. Null hypothesis significance testing is discussed from both frequentistic and Bayesian viewpoints. Finally, I present two Bayesian statistical computer applications.
