Abstrakti

Pre-evaluation of organisational mergers This article outlines a framework for ex ante evaluation of organisational mergers. We argue that pre-merger evaluation requires adequate understanding of its potential benefits, their attainability from organisational point of view, and the actual work required in materialising them. What is needed is a multilevel approach delineating the relevant concepts, defining the focal points of attention, and figuring out how to draw conclusions from the respective observations. Our article paves the way for arrival of the approach by introducing an evaluation model that covers individual level (psychological contracts), group level (social identities) and organisational level (organisational cultures).
