Mikael is moving - and growing
Mikael is moving to journal.fi, the online platform for Finnish scholarly journals provided by the Federation of Finnish Learned Societies. Currently, this new website includes essential information about the journal, as well as contributors’ guidelines for issue 17:1. Previous volumes of Mikael can still be found on the journal's previous website.
In connection with the move, Mikael is also undergoing the following changes:
The spelling of the journal title has been modernised (MikaEL > Mikael).
As of 2024, Mikael will be published twice a year. The first issue will continue to be based on the KäTu Symposium on Translation and Interpreting Studies; the second issue will be an open issue for articles on translation and interpreting research written in Finnish or Swedish. To reflect this change, the journal’s full title has been changed to Mikael – Kääntämisen ja tulkkauksen tutkimuksen aikakauslehti / Finsk tidskrift för översättnings- och tolkningsforskning / Finnish Journal of Translation and Interpreting Studies.
Mikael’s new editor-in-chief is Dr Marja Kivilehto from Tampere University.
The categories of the articles published in Mikael have been specified. In addition to peer-reviewed research articles and non-peer reviewed discussion articles, Mikael accepts submissions of book reviews, conference reports, obituaries and presentations given by doctoral candidates at the beginning of their doctoral defence. Consult the descriptions of article types for details.
