Abstract

We find it necessary to relate the concept of civil disobedience to such social and moral philosophical topics as the theories of punishment, the nature of the political obligation and even to the concept of democracy in general. Although one cannot argue for the universal right to civil disobedience, one can justify certain acts of civil disobedience also in democratic societies.
