Politiikan syklit ja ääriliikkeet Hampurissa
Abstract
The purpose of the article is to analyze the political cycles in Hamburg since the 1960s. International discussion of postmaterialism and the ”new politics” is connected with the question of German political extremism. The term new politics can be applied to the rise of left-wing extremism since the 1970s and the successes of the Greens in the 1980s. The relative success of right-wing extremism in the 1990s can be seen as an authoritarian version of new politics. The traditional hegemony of the social democratic SPD party has been challenged by these cycles, which have also changed the political agenda of the parties. ”Green” and environmental issues have come to the forefront since the 1970s. More recently problems connected with immigration and criminality have brought ”law and order” issues into electoral campaigns and political debates.Downloads
