From a didactical perspective, this discussion examines artworks as educational tools, starting with a critique of pictorial representations that oversimplify school content. The concept unfolds that works of art can serve as meaningful educational instruments. Artworks are then understood as translations of theories into specific experiential contexts—akin to entering a ‘landscape’ or ‘soundscape’ that invites exploration. Rather than functioning merely as illustrative aids, artworks have the capacity to make learning tangible, fostering uncertain, open-ended, and unpredictable personal experiences that contribute to theory-building. Two examples will be provided to demonstrate how artworks can serve as educational tools for mobility Bildung.
