Abstract

In March 2020, the coronavirus pandemic hit Finland, leading to a prolonged state of emergency. The pandemic posed a substantial challenge to the healthcare system and society, prompting the need for indepth investigations to improve future preparedness. However, certain events along with their respective interpretations remain ungrasped in officially recognized narratives. This article addresses one of these blind spots, specifically by exploring the case of Herttoniemi reserve hospital. By employing the conceptual framework of three different worlds of justification, the analysis brings attention to neglected aspects within the prevailing preparedness understanding.
