Abstract

Landmarks in the education of automotive engineers in Finland 1917–1950Education in automotive engineering began in Finland in early decades of the 20th century. As the number of cars in Finnish roads increased from 1930´s onwards, and a modern traffic system gradually developed, automotive engineering also became part of the curriculum in all levels of technical education. In this article, the development of the Finnish education system in the field of automotive engineering is examined from the beginning of the 20th century until the post-World War II period.
