Abstract

The article describes moor and fen vegetation and different kinds of moor types in England and Scotland on the basis of literature and the author’s own observations. Also the characteristics of the commonest peat types are reported on. The author is very much obliged to Dr. K. G. Fraser, Aberdeen, and Dr. H. H. Nicholson, Cambridge, for their kind instructions and great help during his excursions in Scotland and in the fen area near Cambridge.
