Abstract

The purpose of the study was to clarify the toxicity to calves of the insecticide Vapona Strip®. Besides 39 calves, the study involved 1 heifer, 7 sheep, 6 guinea pigs and 20 mice. The highest concentration of DDVP in the air, 2.1 mg/m2 , was measured when the number of strips was highest or 16 times the recommended number. The concentration of DDVP in the air did not prove dangerous for the calves or the other animals in the study.
