Abstract

The spraying of the seedlings in the autumn with thiophanate-methyl gave the highest yield increase when there was snowmould present. In most cases the yield increase was obtained even in the absence of the disease. Seeddressing with this product also appeared very beneficial. The results of quintozene-spraying and mercury-seeddressing were not as good. The difficulty of finding the correct timing for quintozene-spraying limits its efficiency in practice.
