Aims, Scope and Principles
The Finnish Journal of Tourism Research is a multidisciplinary scientific journal focusing on tourism, recreation and leisure. The journal aims to promote diverse and high-quality research and discussions on tourism and leisure. The journal has been published since 2004.
The Finnish Journal of Tourism Research publishes peer reviewed articles and review articles (double-blind peer review) and research notes (open peer review) in Finnish, Swedish and English, as well as non-peer reviewed articles in the perspectives and introductory lectures (lectio praecursoria) sections. In addition to regular issues, the journal also occasionally publishes special issues on specific themes. The special issues are edited by guest editors.
The journal is published twice a year and is accessible at www.journal.fi immediately after its publication. It is an open-access journal which means that all content is freely available without charge to the user or his/her institution. Users are allowed to read, download, copy, distribute, print, search, or link to the full texts of the articles, or use them for any other lawful purpose without asking prior permission from the publisher or the author. The journal is listed in the Directory of Open Access Journals (DOAJ).
