Via författning mot demokrati: skisser kring politisk instruktion
Abstract
»Democracy» is here defined as correspondence between governmental acts and rational preferences of the persons affected by those acts. In short, it is argued that responsiveness is what democracy is about. It is the general idea of the paper that responsiveness can be advanced by means of constitutional changes, aiming at a higher degree of political instruction. It is suggested that different forms of political instruction have different consequences for responsiveness as they manipulate conditions for responsiveness in differing ways, and that constitutional arrangements for instruction should be evaluated against this background. Instructions are typologized according to form and content, and the typologies are crossed in order to find adequate points of impact and thus to relate type of government to type of policy.Downloads
