Abstrakti

This article deals with the death of the famous Soviet Nobel Prize laureate and previous dissident Andrei Sakharov, who died in December 1989. For the so called radicals in the Soviet Union Sakharov represented the tradition of the 19th century Russian intelligentsia and, in fact, Russia in general. Interpreted against the background of the dual model in the dynamics of Russian culture, developed by Ju. M. Lotman and B. A. Uspenskij, this means that the Perestrojka includes a tendency to regenerate archaic, »old» forms of the Russian culture.
