Politikforskning och finskt samhälle: utmaningar till politikforskning?

Abstract

Finnish political science is not very well known internationally. The language problem is not the only reason for this. The other reason may be the difficulty in getting longitudinal many-sided social data from Finland. The omission of Finnish data is very unfortunate, because development in Finland has been, and is in many respects, exceptional and, therefore, very interesting. One can even argue that Finland has been left behind in two respects: we have no centralized social scientific databanks, and we have only a few specialized research institutions for specific areas or problems.
