Abstract

The German word ’Herrenklub’ in its double meaning describes well the structure of the Finnish political scientists’ community. Conditions and changes of subverting this structure from within deserve discussion. The article gives special attention to the politics involved in the distinction between men and women as a challenge to the established concept of politics and, correspondingly, to the subject matter of political science.
