Abstract

According to this article, it is very difficult to formulate a comprehensive theory of ethnic conflicts. The explanation of ethnic phenomena has been hindered by an excessive tendency to aim at all- encompassing theories. In the analysis of ethnic conflicts it is important to pay special attention to the unique characteristics of individual conflicts. The events can generally be only partially explained by theories of ethnicity and conflicts.
