Abstract
The agro meteorological research activity in Canada is in a state of rapid developement. The fact that agriculture in that country is practised under widely varying meteorological conditions, makes this research work manysided and extensive. About thirty experimental stations together with twenty substations are engaged in this work. For winter injury research the Central Experimental Farm in Ottawa has developed a new method employing a portable field growth chamber equipped with automatic control of ventilation, heating and lighting. Experimental work has shown that this new growth chamber is of great help when the influence of surface water, snow, low temperature, alternating freezing and melting and many other factors, on the wintering of crops is being investigated.Downloads
