FAREES MA Thesis Competition
The Finnish Association for Russian and East European Studies FAREES has decided to award two prizes for young scholars whose master's thesis from 2014 could be considered outstanding in the field of Russian, Central East European and Eurasian Studies.
The winner of the competition will receive a grant of 250 euros and the second-place winner a grant of 100 euros. Recipients of the awards will be invited to present their research and receive Award Certificate at a FAREES seminar in the spring of 2023.
The Awards can be granted to a thesis in the field of Russian and Eastern European studies that has been accepted at any university in Finland during 2022. The decision of the winner will be made by an evaluation panel appointed by the Board of FAREES.
FAREES invites institutions and supervisors working in the field to nominate candidates for the Award. To participate in the competition, send the proposed thesis and its summary (electronically) to the viets.gradupalkinto@gmail.com. Please send your suggestions by February 28, 2023.
We welcome the recipients of the awards to write an article in Idäntutkimus based on their dissertation. The articles are refereed in accordance with the journal's normal practices.
