This article focuses on the media-use of Finnish Russian-speakers based on the interviews collected among them in Finland 2015–2016. It examines the motives of Russian-speakers’ media-use, their communicative connectivity as well as the conflicts inherent in their mediascapes and the strategies put in use to mediate between them. The article discusses the mediascapes of Russian-speakers as strongly politicized and argues that it is possible to identify at least four types of media-use among the Russian-speakers. Russian-minded media-use, distancing oneself from media, and/or pursuing critical and multi-sourced media-use are explained as reactions to increased politicization.
