Abstract

This article concerns the differences and similarities of Finnish and Russian work life, especially the meaning of work and payment, favouring and satisfaction with leadership. According to the analysis, in Russia the payment is, as expected, more important than the contents of the work, and vice versa in Finland. Also  appreciation of work itself is higher in Russia, although it is on high level also in Finland. Even though management is said to be very underdeveloped in Russia, Russian employees are more satisfied with some components of management than Finnish employees.
