Planetaariset rajat: Kirjallisuuskatsaus kulutuksen ja biodiversiteetin välisistä yhteyksistä

Ekologinen kestävyyskriisi uhkaa ihmiskunnan ja maapallon tulevaisuutta. Biodiversiteetti ja luontokato ovat nousseet ilmastokysymysten rinnalle yhteiskunnallisessa ja tieteellisessä keskustelussa. Luontokadon perimmäiset syyt liittyvät kestämättömiin tuotantotapoihin ja liialliseen kulutukseen. Tästä huolimatta kulutuksen ja biodiversiteetin välisiä yhteyksiä on tutkittu niukasti. Tämä tutkimus tuo yhteen eri tieteenalojen näkemykset kulutuksen ja biodiversiteetin välisistä kytköksistä integratiivisen kirjallisuuskatsauksen menetelmää soveltaen. Analyysi etenee tutkimuskentän ajallisen kehityskaaren kuvauksesta tutkimuksista piirtyvään kokonaiskuvan luomiseen. Tutkimus luo perustaa aihetta käsittelevälle tulevaisuuden kulutustutkimukselle. Johtopäätökset kutsuvat tarkastelemaan kulutuksen ja biodiversiteetin välisiä yhteyksiä monitieteisesti, systeemisesti ja luontokeskeisesti.
