Self-led teams are coming

structures and the concept of management due to change

Abstract

Research results indicate that teaming is mostly based on motives aimed at improving “internal” organisational efficacy than at ensuring customer satisfaction. Most of the teams formed in the world of business operate in the manner of traditional work groups or as some kind of “quasi-teams” without the co-operation among the members and the possibilities for intellectual growth having produced significant added value. The foremost obstacles to change lie in conventional, hierarchical, status-oriented ways of thinking and in the slowness of change in management styles. It would appear that women are more prepared for change than men and also more open to adapting team-like work.
