Viimeaikaisia näkymiä organisaation kehittämisestä
Abstract
Recent perspectives on the development of organizations – Postmodernism has changed the way we think about organizations. From the modernist perspective, an organization was mainly seen as a structure built on an ideal bureaucratic model. The postmodernist perspective, by contrast, allows us to view organizations as communities created by social agents in contextual discourses which influence the ways their members understand and interpret the world. As a social construction it also produces its own language and language games. The article analyzes changes in organizations from the point of view of language and images. The author examines organizational changes through three basic approaches: Morgan’s organizational metaphors, Foucault’s power relations and democratic dialogue.
