Changes in work life and adult education : an examination of certain problem areas
Abstract
The article begins with a survey of the conflict of interests existing between the labour market counterparts concerning the labour force's qualifications and training objectives. Following this, the author goes on to study the problem of training responsibility mainly from the point of view of economics. The author sees the clarification of the cost responsibility as being necessary for the further development of training in work life. The article ends by dealing with the problem of training piling up and an attempt is made to provide some solutions to it. The author expresses concern over the commonly held view of the polarization of the qualifications of the labour force as being "natural" development and thai hardly anything has been done to counteract its harmful effects despite the fact thai the diminishment of educational inequality has been set as one of the guiding principles in the planning of adult education in Finland.
