Continuing education as the basis of educational planning
background and reality in the 1970s and 1980s
Abstract
Continuing/lifelong education is part of the fundamental features of Finnish educational thinking. !t has been evident throughout educational planning and especially so in the 1970s and 1980s. The article deals with essence of the work of committees involved in educational planning from the point of view of continuing education. The author also presents the limitations of the concept and policies implemented with regard to it in Finnish educational planning.
