Quality circles as learner work groups
Abstract
The rapid changes taking place in the work life place increasing emphasis on the need for continuous learning on the part of personnel. ln place of and alongside separately arranged training there are plans for arranging and developing leaming within the work community in direct contact with work. Quality circles are part of the daily routine in many successful companies in Japan and the United States. The article examines the quality circle as an aspect of the work community, its advantages and what has been achieved through it, its limitations and problems, and lastly quality circles as a learning aid in the light of Finnish experiences and experiments.
